Oak Brook TU needs volunteers to further its mission.
GET INVOLVED!
To join Trout Unlimited, visit the national TU website. Trout Unlimited is America’s leading coldwater conservation organization. Our hope is that clean, cold, fishable water exists for generations to come, but we can’t do it without the support of committed anglers and conservationists like you. Your $35.00 annual membership will support TU’s national conservation initiatives and you will also receive TU’s annual calendar and quarterly issues of TROUT Magazine.
For more information about TU and the Oak Brook Chapter, contact our membership chairman, Ken Krueger.
ABOUT OAK BROOK TROUT UNLIMITED
The Oak Brook Chapter of Trout Unlimited was formed in 1973 in order to allow TU members in suburban Chicago to join together and promote Trout Unlimited’s mission to conserve, protect and restore coldwater resources. Oak Brook TU serves TU members in south and western suburbs of Chicago and much of Cook, Du Page, Kane, Will, Kendall, LaSalle, and Kankakee counties as well as downstate Illinois.
Oak Brook TU regularly takes part in conservation projects—on the ground, or in the water—in cooperation with other Midwest TU chapters to stabilize or protect trout habitat in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Iowa. We are very proud of our Youth Education programs, which include Trout in the Classroom, Youth Fly Fishing classes, and participation in the annual summer Illinois Council TU Youth Conservation and Fly Fishing Camp.
Chapter meetings are scheduled from September through May at 7:00 p.m. on the third Wednesday of every month at the Oak Brook Park District Recreation Center near 31st Street and Jorie Blvd. in Oak Brook, Illinois. Every meeting features a speaker or presentation on topics ranging from conservation issues confronting the trout waters here in the Midwest, to local fishing opportunities and techniques. You can take a video out from the chapter library, and meet other folks like you—anglers concerned for the well-being of trout and salmon in the Midwest.
