October 16 Membership Meeting 7-9 p.m.

October 16, 2019 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Speaker: Jake Lemon, TU Eastern Angler Science Coordinator on “Stream Monitoring Technology” and Aaron Snell, Co-Founder of Streamside Ecological Service, on “Coldwater Watershed Habitat Strategy”

The meeting is 7-9 p.m. at the Oak Brook Recreation Center Main Building, Canterberry Room.  Guests are welcome.

As TU Eastern Angler Science Coordinator Jake Lemon manages and supports projects that engage volunteers in collecting data and information about the streams and rivers they fish. This data is used to protect streams from degradation, identify and prioritize restoration projects and monitor restoration effectiveness. Jake has worked for TU for eight years and is based in Rockford, Michigan.

Jake is supporting the Coldwater River Watershed Council in the deployment of three real-time water monitoring stations. The stations will create a long-term baseline of water quality conditions in the watershed and aid in the identification of pollution incidents, such as manure spills.
