Trout-in-the-Classroom Live Wet Bugs lessons in our TIC Schools

April 7 - April 11

During the week of April 7 thru 11, OBTU volunteers will be leading and mentoring students in our Trout-in-the-Classroom Schools.  We bring live aquatic bugs into the classroom for close examination and study by the students.   This event is very popular among the students and their teachers.    It is also a highly rewarding experience for OBTU volunteers.

If you are interested in volunteering to assist with mentoring of students, as well as set-up and take-down of our cold water macro invertebrate demonstration equipment, please contact Marvin Strauch:  [email protected]

We are always interested in introducing new volunteers to the TIC program.   If you have interest and availability during school hours, don’t hesitate to contact Marvin who will attempt to work you into the schedule.   Volunteers are welcome to participate during a session in one school on one scheduled day, or multiple sessions on multiple days.  We attempt to assign schools that are most convenient to our volunteer’s home location.
